Frequently asked questions

Questions & answers

Everything you want to know about working with Tip ICT: from support and response times to switching providers, ownership and insurance. Can't find your question? Feel free to ask.

Working together & support

Do you have a support desk?

Yes, we provide ongoing support and are reachable during — and for urgent cases also outside — office hours via Phone number protected against spam — please enable JavaScript or E-mail address protected against spam — please enable JavaScript. In 2026, we also focus on helping users become more self-reliant with their computer or laptop — partly through our free training courses.

What are your response times?

In principle, we always resolve issues on the same working day — often faster. Resolution time depends on urgency and available capacity: an outage that stops everyone from working takes priority over a blinking printer. This means a client with a less urgent issue sometimes waits a little longer than a client with an emergency. We think that's fairer than making everyone wait the same amount of time.

Can you work alongside our in-house IT person or existing suppliers?

Absolutely — we do this every day. We supplement in-house IT where knowledge or time is lacking, work together with your software supplier or web developer, and at larger organisations fulfil a specific role alongside the existing team, such as security officer or project manager.

What size of business do you work with?

From sole traders with a couple of workplaces to organisations with dozens of employees. The approach differs by size: we take full care of small businesses, while we support larger organisations with specific expertise such as compliance, security or project management. See the breakdown on our homepage.

Do you also help private individuals?

No, Tip ICT works for businesses and organisations. The only exception: for small businesses with a home office, we sometimes also manage the home IT that comes with it.

What if Patrick is unavailable — are we then dependent on one person?

No. Tip ICT is deliberately small-scale, but works closely with a fixed network of freelance professionals. Environments are documented and access is arranged through professional password management, so continuity is guaranteed — without single points of failure. Read more about our philosophy.

Switching & getting started

What is your service area?

For IT management (workplaces, networks, on-site support) we work in the Zaanstreek and Noord-Holland region: from Zaandam, Assendelft, Wormerveer and Krommenie to Amsterdam, Purmerend, Uitgeest, Alkmaar and Hoorn. For consultancy — such as (CI)SO as a Service, compliance and AI-related questions — we work throughout the Netherlands, on site and online.

How does switching from our current IT supplier work?

In good consultation and cooperation with your current provider — without pointing fingers, but in a professional and solution-focused way. We guide a secure handover of the necessary technical details: domains, cloud environments, admin passwords, licences and documentation. And if a party is unwilling to cooperate or fails to meet its obligations, we take care of that for you too.

How quickly can you get started?

That depends on the size of your organisation and the request. As a guide: a website is often migrated within a day, while moving a complete office environment to another provider takes several weeks. During the IT assessment meeting you'll always get a realistic timeline.

Ownership & assurance

Are we locked in with you? How do you prevent vendor lock-in?

You always remain the owner of your environments, domains and data — and Tip ICT always cooperates. As a client, you're entitled to admin access to your environments; for security reasons we recommend limiting that access if you don't need it, but if you want it, you'll get it. We manage a number of environments centrally for all our clients (such as domain management and our RMM tool Atera); you won't get access to those, but you're always free to choose and switch service providers. A smooth transition at the end of a contract is also guaranteed in our NLdigital terms and by the statutory obligation of good agency conduct (art. 7:401 Dutch Civil Code).

Are you insured if something goes wrong?

Yes. Through Alicia Insurance B.V. we hold both a general liability insurance policy (cover of € 2,5 million per incident, € 5 million per year) and a professional indemnity insurance policy (cover of € 1 million per claim, € 1 million per year). The policy is available on request.

Do you sign a data processing agreement or non-disclosure agreement?

Yes. Our data processing agreement, based on the NLdigital model, applies to every agreement by default. We sign an additional non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on request — confidentiality is a given for us.

How is your own security arranged?

Practice what you preach: we apply the principles of ISO 27001 to ourselves — from risk management and vulnerability management to 100% password management via password managers, MFA on all our environments and encrypted systems. Read the full explanation on Our own security.

Technology

Do you also build websites and solutions using AI?

Yes, a lot — and it's cost-efficient. AI significantly speeds up our work on websites and applications, while we safeguard quality, security and the end result. You'll see that efficiency reflected in the price. We also help organisations use AI responsibly themselves through our AI consultancy service.

How long does a project take?

This varies greatly per service. A workplace migration for a small business is arranged within days; an ISO 27001 certification or ERP implementation takes months. In phase 1 of our approach you'll always get a realistic timeline with milestones.
